Voting in two weeks and things heat up, again.

Voting is about 2 weeks away and it's becoming all too obvious on the TV and radio. I bet the stations love this time of the year.

The problem I have is all the advertising posed by the candidates usually is anti-opponent. Rather than each candidate coming out to say, I voted for...., I supported x.... the groups trash the opponent. Come on people, let's not trash, rather promote what you actually have done to improve this country and it's people.

Realistically, you can find any little thing against someone else. It's not hard, and if you can't find anything juicy, they can simply lie.

Ya gotta love negative campaign ads. Unfortunately, they've infiltrated Canada (although not to the same degree)... lovely.

Aside: if you get your hands on a copy of this week's Rolling Stone, Matt Taibbi's article about how horrible Congress has been since 2000 is pretty shocking.

Chuck 'em all out, I say.

(Well, except Kucinich. That guy can stay.)

(And McCain. He's one tough motherfucker.)

McCain is indeed tough.

However, I would lean to Newt Gingrich instead.

I trust McCain less.

Y'know... at least with Gingrich you knew he was out there to fuck over the poor, help out the rich and gut social programs. With those slippery assfucks in there now, they talk about "family values," "wholesome Christian destiny" and such, but really, when push comes to shove they're just up for the highest bidder and couldn't give two shits about the Commandments.

(I hope you've realized this over the past six years, by the way: with all of Bush's deep-pocketed wacko evangelical backers, abortion and Islam and assfucking are still [nominally] legal in the US. For all those slimy weasels like Tom DeLay and Rick Santorum and Sam Brownback in there, they actually have accomplished zero in terms of turning the US into the fundamentalist Christian nation that many, including you, middle_america, would love to see.)
